Kate Middleton, 40, will host the “Together at Christmas” carol concert tonight that she originated last year, with many members of the Royal Family expected to attend. On Wednesday, the Princess of Wales released a promotional video on her official Twitter account to remind royal fans about the carol concert.
In the video, Kate decorated a Christmas tree by putting baubles on it. The Princess looked very Christmassy for the occasion in her cosy jumper.
Kate opted to wear her Holland Cooper “‘Fairisle’ Knit in Cream”, which she wore earlier this year on the CBeebies Bedtime Stories TV program to read to children during Children’s Mental Health Week.
The Princess appeared on the programme in February, and at the time, it was assumed this jumper was a new purchase.
The jumper is still on the website and is listed for £179, however, there is a notice saying it is no longer in stock.
The description says: “Designed with a longer length and super high roll neck, the Fairisle Knit’s relaxed look and feel is perfect for pairing with jeans for an elevated everyday outfit.
“Created from an extra soft yarn with a traditional ‘Fairisle’ design, this knit is a timeless piece for your wardrobe.
“Detailed with our iconic gold hardware on both the cuff and shoulders.”
To match her festive jumper, Kate wore a simple pair of Roland Mouret “Axon Trousers in Black”, which are currently on sale on the website Atterley.
Originally costing £1,141.81, these black trousers are now down to £779.04.
The description says: “Wide leg trousers by Roland Mouret with side zip closure. Seamless high waistline and floor-sweeping hemline.
“Style with your favourite blouse, a pair of pumps and a diamond necklace.”
Royal fans loved this little surprise from Kate Middleton and took to social media to praise her festive look.
However, most fans were confused why the Princess had tucked such a thick jumper into her trousers made of lighter material.
Instagram user @goosegirlenfys said: “So cosy and festive. I wonder if the jumper ended up tucked in because it kept snagging on the branches.” Another fan, @austy_spumante added: “I tuck in my thinner jumpers into my trousers…sorry everyone.
“I love this outfit, personally. Looks very cosy and comfortable. I honestly wouldn’t have even thought twice about the tucking had I not read these comments.”
One fan saw the funny side of the debate, with @vcp214 saying: “Kate is causing some great debates. First the blue versus plum trouser suit in Boston and now tucked versus untucked jumpers.”
Royal watcher @tessalovescooking wrote: “Love the jumper, but not tucked in the trousers.”
Similarly, @birdnerd327 commented: “I love this jumper but not sure about the tucking it in part of how it’s styled.”
One fan, @colleen_andres even said: “Okay, Kate. I’m not going to start tucking my jumpers.”
Finally, @scarfie1 added: “Who tucks their jumper into their trousers?! Otherwise looks ok.”
