When Netflix approached Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s youngest daughter Christina Schwarzenegger to work on a documentary, the former governor’s daughter jumped at the opportunity. For Christina, the opportunity meant that she could raise more awareness on the usage, addiction, and issues caused by the intake of Adderall. The filmmaker saw the project as a personal one and partnered with her mother, Maria Shriver, to teach about the effects of the drug in workspaces and schools.

The former governor has two well-known kids

Arnold and his ex-wife Shriver gave birth to their first child on December 13, 1983. Their first daughter’s name was Katherine. She graduated from the University of California in 2012. In 2010 the oldest Schwarzenegger child wrote a book called ‘Rock What You Got.’ A few years later, after she graduated from USC, Katherine wrote another book titled I Just Graduated … Now What? Katherine is also famous for marrying Guardians Of The Galaxy star Chris Pratt. The two began dating in 2018 and got married a year later. They welcomed their first child Lyla Maria in 2020. Pratt also has another child from his previous marriage to Anna Faris.

On September 18, 1993, the Schwarzeneggers had their second child Patrick who followed in his father’s footsteps. Patrick had a successful modeling career before becoming an actor. He made his film debut with the 2006 film The Benchwarmers. In 2018, Patrick landed a starring role in the movie Midnight Sun. He appeared in various other movies such as Echo Boomers and Moxie. Patrick is also a USC grad like his older sister Katherine. He co-founded a clothing company called #Project360 that gives some of its proceeds to philanthropic causes. In 2014, Patrick famously dated ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer Miley Cyrus for six months before splitting in 2015. He is currently involved with model Abby Champion.

Schwarzenegger’s other children like keeping a low profile

Schwarzenegger has three other children who prefer to remain out of the limelight. Out of the remaining three children, the Terminator actor has two more children with his ex-wife Shriver. Christina, who was born on July 23, 1991, is Schwarzenegger’s second child, while Christopher was born on September 27, 1997. When Christopher was 13, he suffered a surging accident that resulted in broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Christopher graduated from the University of Michigan in 2020 and prefers to keep a low profile, unlike the rest of his family.

Schwarzenegger also has another child with his former longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena. Baena had been working for the Schwarzeneggers for 20 years. She gave birth to son Joseph on October 2, 1997, five days after Shriver gave birth to Christopher. The news about Joseph’s relation to Schwarzenegger came out after the Los Angeles Times published an article in 2011 detailing the actor’s affair with Baena. The information eventually led to Shriver filing for divorce from Schwarzenegger. Much like his father, Joseph took an interest in bodybuilding and has often called Schwarzenegger ‘the best training partner in the world.’

Christina successfully fought her Adderall dependency

As a child, Christina had attention deficit disorder, otherwise known as ADHD. In her freshman year in high school, Christina started taking Adderall for ADHD. However, it wasn’t until college that the actor’s daughter started becoming dependent on it. Christina attended Georgetown University, the same alma mater as her mother. The 26-year-old filmmaker said that her addiction to Adderall began due to the stress associated with attending an “academically rigorous” college.

Christina said she no longer takes the drug and warns that Adderall causes more harm than good if not properly managed. She said, “you get a high from it.” Fox News reported in 2018 that Christina partnered with her mother Shriver on a Netflix documentary called Take Your Pills to raise awareness about the adverse effects the drug can have on the human body if not well managed.
