Britt Ekland, 77, will appear in the new series of The Real Marigold Hotel 2020 alongside eight famous faces including Duncan Bannatyne, Paul Elliot and John Altman. The Swedish actress spoke about the poverty she witnessed while in India where the BBC show is set.
The former Bond girl admitted the experience “bothered” her as she saw the “terrible way” some individuals live.
In a recent interview with Radio Times, Britt admitted she wasn’t sure if she would be able to cope while abroad.
She said: “I wasn’t sure if I could deal with the poverty in India. Children sleep on the pavement, surrounded by waste.
“It’s a terrible way to live and I have no solution, which bothers me today.”

Britt continued: “And I found it difficult to deal with the noise, day and night, mainly traffic.
The actress explained the moment they had to swerve cows who were in the middle of the road.
“You’d see an entire family on one scooter without helmets,” she explained.
“There are cows in the middle of the road and you swerve to avoid them. It was so frightening.”
Britt is a Swedish actress who was most famous during the 1960s and 70s.
She appeared in the likes of Get Carter and The Wicker Man, was a Bond girl in The Man with the Golden Gun, and was also married to Peter Sellers for four years.
Britt also dated rock legend Rod Stewart for two years before the couple split in 1975.
The mum-of-three took a cheeky swipe at the crooner, who has eight children with five different women.

She told the same publication: “I started work at 14 and my dad made sure we were independent. It’s harder for women, of course.
“I was 46 when I had my last child. I really pushed the limits on that.
“Do I envy my ex Rod Stewart for being able to have babies in his 60s? I sincerely doubt he changes nappies.”
Elsewhere, Britt took to Instagram and shared a snap alongside Zhandra Rhodes and Susie Blake ahead of their appearance on The Real Marigold Hotel.
