Corey La Barrie’s best friend and YouTube partner Crawford Collins has broken his silence on the star’s tragic death.
It’s the first time Crawford has spoken out since Corey died on Sunday (10 May) in a car crash on his 25th birthday.
Alongside a photo of them hugging, Crawford wrote in an Instagram post: ‘Corey, you were my brother/best friend/channel partner and one crazy motherf****r.
‘From the the 1st day I met you you’ve done nothing but push me to be a better person and help me out any chance you had. Anytime i needed help with a video or had no money to call an uber or needed a place to stay you were always the 1st one to help me out and the same would go for any of your friends that needed the same.’
Crawford went on to describe Corey as the ‘perfect example of a supportive friend’ and said he ‘always lived life to the fullest, joking that it often got them ‘into some trouble’.
The YouTuber continued poignantly: ‘Those memories we share I will cherish forever.
‘I’m gonna miss you yelling at me to “edit the video!” or you asking me “did you send in the footage?” and I wish more then anything that we could have accomplished all the big plans that we had for the future.
‘But I take comfort in knowing how many people you impacted positively in such a short time and because of that your legacy will live forever.’
Crawford concluded the heartfelt message: ‘I’ve never been much of a writer and I could speak for hours about how much you’ve impacted me and everyone around you but i’ll end this one here.
‘You’re a legend bro. Love you always.’
The pair shared a YouTube channel, Corey & Crawford, which boasts over 107,000 subscribers. They posted their most recent video just five days ago. But Corey was also popular in his own right and amassed an audience of more than 350,000 on his personal YouTube channel.
Corey died in a car crash that took place in Los Angeles at around 9:39pm on Sunday. He was transported to hospital but died from his injuries shortly after.
Ink Master star Daniel Silva was arrested for murder following the incident. LAPD said in a statement that the 27-year-old was believed to be driving the vehicle during the fatal incident after losing control.
Corey’s family have now launched a GoFundMe page to raise money towards the star’s funeral costs.
