Fantasia Barrino rose to fame in 2004 after winning season three of the popular singing competition “American Idol” (via CBS). Since taking home this enviable title, Barrino has released seven successful studio albums (via Discogs), including “Free Yourself” which featured Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “I Believe.” The 36-year-old has worked with Missy Elliott and even starred as herself in the lifetime movie “The Fantasia Barrino Story: Life Is Not a Fairy Tale” (via Entertainment Weekly).

In November of 2020, Barrino announced that she was pregnant with her first child with her husband Kendall Taylor (via People). On May 23rd, the singer took to Instagram to reveal that her daughter had arrived. However, three days later she also shared that Keziah was born early. She captioned her Instagram post, “Keziah was born a little too early but she is a fighter just like her Mother. When you see the words Strength, Determined, Perseverance, and Unbreakable think of Fantasia Monique Taylor.” 

Now, Barrino is sharing another update on her daughter’s health.

Baby Keziah is finally home

Since Fantasia Barrino’s daughter was born early, the newborn had to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (via People). After spending nearly a month in the NICU, Keziah was finally able to go home with her excited parents. Barrino posted an Instagram photo of her daughter dressed in a white romper and matching boots, with the caption “Welcome Home.” 

Barrino also shared a photo on her Instagram story that showcased a giant “Welcome Home Baby Keziah” sign on her front lawn (via People). The singer tagged the company that made the sign and captioned the photo, “Thank you so much for making me Cry Lol!!! My Baby Deserved it because she kicked the NICU BUTT.”

The arrival of baby Keziah marks an end to a long journey. Right after announcing her pregnancy, Barrino appeared on “The Tamron Hall Show” in December to discuss her most recent pregnancy experience. Barrino told the host that it took her three years to conceive baby Keziah due to fertility struggles (via Entertainment Tonight). It’s exciting to see the happy couple finally get to bring their baby girl home.
