Jasmine Harman, 45, has divulged that out of all the A Place In The Sun presenters she feels the “oldest and fattest” while comparing herself to younger hosts including Laura Hamilton, 39, Danni Menzies, 32, and Scarlette Douglas, 32. The star admitted she is learning how to deal with her “own insecurities” after appearing on the Channel 4 programme since 2004.
I’m the oldest and the fattest!
Opening up on if she ever feels any pressure to look always appear glamorous while appearing on TV screens, Jasmine revealed to Express.co.uk: “You know I feel like out of all the lovely A Place In The Sun presenters, we have got such a great team, I feel like out of the girls, out of the women… I’m the oldest and the fattest. “
“But I’m the most experienced in the show, so it’s got advantages and disadvantages, but in my head, I do sort of compare.
“I look at that lovely dress she’s wearing and then think, ‘I’m too old’.
“So you do obviously compare yourself to other people and I know logically it’s stupid, and everyone has their own things going on behind the scenes that you don’t see on social media.
“Everyone’s got their own insecurities, everyone’s got their own challenges.
“Take everything you see with a pinch of salt, I guess,” she added.
Her co-presenter Laura joined the show in 2011, while Scarlette came on board in 2015 and Danni was cast in 2016.
Despite comparisons herself with the other property experts, Jasmine stresses the show is ultimately about the buyers on their journey to find a dream holiday home.
She continued: “The logical side of me says, ‘Don’t worry about it, you look great, you choose your clothes to flatter you and it’s all fine.
“‘It’s not about your dress size, this programme is not about your dress size. It’s about the people and the journey.
“But you know watching the show sometimes I think, ‘Look at me there!’
“Or, ‘I like the way I look there’. It’s really difficult to not compare yourself to other people.”

Jasmine revealed she is is “really keen” to get back to filming new episodes for A Place In The Sun, however, due to changing rules as a result of Brexit, “nobody” is letting the crew in at the moment.
The property expert shared that as a result of the UK no longer being part of the EU, there are now new regulations in place.
But hopefully, as soon as borders begin to open following the easing of coronavirus lockdown restrictions, she will be able to work abroad once more.
Opening up on when the cast and crew will be able to make new episodes, Jasmine said: “As soon as we are allowed we will be back to filming.
“We still have a lot of people who are really keen to go, so obviously it has to be done in all of the guidelines.”
“It’s not only our rules that we have to adhere to for the UK but also wherever we’re going to.
“So at the moment we’re allowed to film for work but nobody is letting us in, because we’re out of the EU now, it’s a whole different set of rules,” she added.
Jasmine shared how it has been tough to travel at the moment due to both the UK’s exit from the EU and the restrictions in place to stop the rapid spread of COVID-19.
She continued: “We can’t go anywhere at the moment, but as soon as the borders open up again we will be back out filming, with all of our filming protocols in place.
“I’m looking forward to going back to work, I’ve really missed it because it’s been part of my life for the last 17 years.
“It really plays a big part in how I identify myself, it’s a big part of my identity.”
