In case you haven’t been keeping seriously close tabs on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s whereabouts, here’s an update: The couple has been keeping a relatively low-profile since their interview with Oprah aired, but now that royal fam tensions have *somewhat* thawed, Harry made his first public appearance at Global Citizen’s star-studded Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World—a live show to increase COVID-19 vaccination awareness—this past weekend. Meghan, on the other hand, was notably absent despite her and Harry being co-chairs for the event.

Sooo…why did Meghan skip the concert? Well, it’s pretty likely that Meghan didn’t attend the Global Citizen’s concert for the same reason she couldn’t attend Prince Philip’s funeral last month—she’s currently pregnant with her and Harry’s second child and at the time, it was “recommended she rest in the final months.” It’s also worth mentioning that there were a bunch of celebrities at the show—like President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Jennifer Lopez, and Selena Gomez to name a few—which could increase Meghan’s chances of contracting COVID-19 even though everyone at the event was vaccinated.

FWIW, Harry made an impassioned speech during the ceremony about global vaccine equity, and said:

It sucks that Meghan wasn’t able to attend the festival, but she will be involved in a pre-taped segment that will air during the broadcast on May 8. Can’t wait!
