THE BOOKIES have slashed the odds for Deontay Wilder to retire from boxing after his crushing defeat to Tyson Fury.

The American was unable to regain his heavyweight titles after he was knocked out by the Gypsy King in the 11th round.

Betfair have priced the Bronze Bomber to hang up his gloves at 2/1.

Before his trilogy with Fury, the 35-year-old had a perfect record but of his three fights against the Gypsy King he had a draw and two defeats.

Meaning his record now stands at 42 wins, with 41 of those victories coming by way of knockout – two defeats and one draw.

The Gypsy King's wife Paris Fury is delighted now her husband can move on from Wilder and believes the Bronze Bomber should walk away from the sport.

She told iFL TV: "Clearly he [Wilder] is a tough man, but he’s not tough enough.

"Three times now. Maybe he’ll shut up now, go home and go to bed. I’ll be polite but we don’t want to hear that man’s name again.

"Let him go and do something else, do something else that he’s good at. He’s not good at boxing clearly."

Meanwhile the bookies have Fury at 6/4 to retire after branding himself the  ‘greatest heavyweight of my era’ after his thrilling victory in Las Vegas.

He said: "I have proved time and again that I can never be written off.

"I didn’t have my best performance but I pulled it out of the bag when it needed to be done.

"I am the greatest heavyweight champion of my era, without a doubt. Number one."
