He's been a soap star and Jungle king and is one of the chirpiest TV presenters on the box.

And now Joe Swash is planning to conquer the cookery world, with his own TV show and cook book.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, the dad-of-two has shared his plans to get into the cookery world after the new skills he has picked up while feeding the family during lockdown.

After he and his fiancée Stacey Solomon welcomed their beautiful daughter Rose last month, the cheeky chappy has set his sights on finding his feet as a professional chef.

He says: "I’d love a cooking show. I love the way people cook around the world and people’s diets and cuisines so I’d like to learn lots of techniques and try different foods so I can bring it back home.

"I’d like to go down the road of a cook book/semi-memoir. We’re working on something at the moment because I really enjoy it and want to learn more."

With fiancée Stacey Solomon, new baby Rose and four older kids between them, there are plenty of mouths to feed – and try new recipes out on.

"I feed six people a day with my kids and Stacey," says Joe. "Every recipe and dish has a memory behind it, whether it reminds me of home times or Christmas.

"My kids love cooking so fingers crossed there might be a TV show," he teased.

Baby Rose was born just last month but Joe reckons she is already bringing much-needed calm to their male-heavy family.

The couple have son Rex together, Stacey has sons Leighton and Zachary from previous relationships, and Joe also has his eldest son Harry.

Joe, 39, admitted: "It does feel slightly calmer having another female in the house – it was a little crazy.

"When the boys are around her they’re a lot more gentle and quieter. The pace has slowed down, which has been really nice, and she’s settled in so nicely.

"The boys have been brilliant with her and helped me and Stacey out so much. Stacey’s done amazing. It’s been lovely seeing Stacey and the baby thriving, and the whole family bonding."

This year Joe and Stacey moved into their dream Essex home, dubbed Pickle Cottage.

They’ve been busy doing it up, and Stacey – back on TV tomorrow presenting BBC cleaning show Sort Your Life Out – has already starting decorating for Christmas.

He says: "We’ve still got builders in every day – now we’re getting the kitchen done. We’re not quite there but I think we will be by Christmas. The kitchen is the priority."

In 2008, Joe won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here and later presented the spin-off show.

And as the new line up of celebs prepare to take on Gwrych Castle in north Wales, the star advised camp mates just enjoy it!

He adds: "It’s an incredible thing to be part of so to the new cast I’d say, ‘Enjoy it and make the most of it.’ Not a lot of people can say they’ve done I’m A Celebrity, particularly in the castle.

"I said to Stacey the other day, around this time I get this weird feeling I should be doing something. We’ve had to adapt because of the pandemic but I’d much rather it be in Wales than not at all.

"When it goes back to Australia I’ll be so jealous and wish I was there again."

Last week Joe joined online value retailer as their festive bus gave passers-by the chance to win prizes, sing with a choir and raise money for the Home-Start UK charity.

Joe says: "There’s nothing better than getting in the Christmas spirit as soon as possible.

"We did a spin the wheel thing where if you sang karaoke you could win gifts, so I did Wham’s Last Christmas and gave my prize to a little girl in the queue."

Joe joined forces with to celebrate London topping the list of the UK’s most festive cities. Some 59% of Londoners believe the festive period to be the most wonderful time of the year, compared with 45% nationally.
