It has been announced that porn star Maitland Ward has signed a book deal.

The memoir of the former Boy Meets World Disney actress is set to be published by Simon & Schuster in 2022.

Ward's debut is titled, 'My Escape From Hollywood: Why I Left to Become a Porn Star'.

It is set to be a "steamy, no-holds-barred memoir" covering everything from her days on the classic soap The Bold and The Beautiful, to her stint on popular ABC/Disney sitcom Boy Meets World, to her rise to porn stardom, and why she decided to kiss mainstream Hollywood goodbye.

Talking about the memoir, Maitland, 44, said: "This is one of the proudest moments of my career.

"I'm so thrilled that I get to share my life and story in such a unique and impactful way."

She added: "I am beyond grateful to Simon & Schuster and Atria books for having belief in my writing and my voice."

The book's senior editor, Michelle Herrera Mulligan, added: "Maitland’s witty, incisive voice drew all of us in from the first page.

"Her rare perspective on the sexism she experienced first-hand in Hollywood, and the liberation she’s found in women-produced adult entertainment, will inspire, shock, and inform a generation eager to learn her story."

Before her move into porn, Mailtand was for her roles as Rachel on Boy Meets World and Brittany in White Chicks.

However, not wanting to be typecast as a sweet and innocent girl, she broke into the cosplay world and found a passion for role-play.

Maitland then entered the porn industry in 2019 as the new face of Deeper.com, a high-end X-rated site.

In her first year of porn, she won Best Supporting Actress at the 2020 AVN Awards.

Maitland won two additional AVN Awards in 2021, including Best Leading Actress for the film Muse.

She has also built an impressive social media following of over two million, not including her thousands of OnlyFans subscribers.

The erotic star is currently celebrating the achievement of 700,000 OnlyFans likes.

The book comes after Maitland recently said she felt “pigeonholed” after she got a role in Boy Meets World.

The star said she wasn’t taken seriously as an actress until she quit Hollywood to go into porn.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, she said: “I wanted to be a serious, in-depth actress in pieces while also doing this great sexual performance and doing the scripts in porn has made me an actress again—and maybe people see me like that.

“It’s really strange that I had to cross over from mainstream to porn, say, ‘Look, take me seriously as an actress,’ and it took going to porn for them to take me seriously as an actress.”

Despite this, Maitland is set to make a move back into TV, as she is now co-producing and co-starring in The Big Time, a sitcom about the adult industry.

She believes actors should be able to juggle mainstream roles and porn without getting categorised by either industry.
