The USA TODAY High School Sports Awards are slated to celebrate the top student-athletes in the Dallas area.

On June 18, 2020, at 6 p.m., USA TODAY will fete high school standouts with a star-studded online show available free of charge to all viewers. The show will also be available on demand after the initial live event.

Here are the 10 nominees for Dallas Girls Wrestler of the Year.

Weight: 102 pounds

Noteworthy: She finished in third in the state for Class 6A when she pinned Zhivanna Magdaleno of League City Clear Springs.

Noteworthy: After winning her first 65 matches, Basham was upset on a last-second takedown in the state semifinal. She finished in third place.

Noteworthy: Chavez was a runner-up as a freshman but bounced back with a state title at 102 as a sophomore. She ended her junior campaign with another state title when she won a 7-2 decision.
