EVERTON are set to appoint Vitor Pereira as their new manager, according to reports.
The Portuguese is expected to replace controversial former boss Rafael Benitez, who was sacked last week.
Benitez, 61, was appointed by Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri despite dissenting voices from within the club and its fanbase.
And despite the Spaniard's tenure being unsuccessful, Moshiri is reportedly set to ignore advice from his peers once again – this time to appoint Pereira.
According to the Mirror, the Iranian wants to push on and appoint Pereira on a deal until the end of the season.
It's said that Moshiri and fellow stakeholder Alisher Usmanov will once again listen to the advice of agent Kia Joorabchian rather than colleagues within Goodison Park.
Everton have interviewed Frank Lampard over the post while Wayne Rooney has also been in consideration.
Key figures within the club expected the process to be a carefully considered one, with no immediate decision imminent.
