'Ozark': Charlotte Byrde Was Almost Played by This 1 'Dance Moms' Reality TV Star

Netflix’s original drama, Ozark, dropped season 3 on March 27, 2020, and it was every bit as thrilling as the last two seasons. Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde’s (Laura Linney) daughter, Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz), was less than thrilled to move to the Lake of the Ozarks in season 1. However, in the third season, she is a team player in the family business of money laundering. It’s hard to believe that a Dance Moms reality TV star was almost in her place.

‘Ozark’: What happened to Charlotte Byrde in season 3?

Charlotte has come a long way from that angry teen who wanted to remain in Chicago, Illinois, in season 1. Now, she’s settled into her life in the Ozarks, protects the family business, and works alongside her mother.

Early in season 3, Charlotte gives her brother, Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), a drone, which he plans to use for video surveillance. Later in the season, she becomes increasingly important because of her friendship with Helen Pierce’s (Janet McTeer) daughter — Erin (Madison Thompson).

Erin has no idea that her mother works for a Mexican drug cartel, so Charlotte has to keep the family secrets from her while keeping her out of danger. We see that Charlotte’s personality has changed dramatically since the first season when she is not the one chasing boys, but going along with it for Erin’s safety.

‘Ozark’: Which ‘Dance Moms’ star auditioned for the role of Charlotte Byrde?

Instead of watching Hublitz as Charlotte, it could be Chloe Lukasiak from the original cast of Dance Moms. The actress and reality TV personality auditioned for the role at the same time as Hublitz.

Lukasiak was cast on Lifetime’s Dance Moms in 2011, along with Abby Lee Dance Company owner, Abby Lee Miller. She appeared on the show for the first four seasons, and then returned as a guest during season 7.

RELATED: ‘Ozark’ Is Heading Toward a ‘Game of Thrones’ Level of Popularity

After leaving Dance Moms, Lukasiak became active on her YouTube channel, appeared in various music videos, and scored small parts in a few movies. She has over 6 million followers on Instagram and is gaining popularity as a social media influencer. The reality star is a stark contrast to Hublitz, who does not have a public Instagram or Twitter account.

Some fans think Charlotte will have a more significant role in ‘Ozark’ Season 4

Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) left the Byrde family business in season 3. So, many fans surmise that Charlotte will step up and take on Ruth’s duties.

“She’ll probably fill in for Ruth’s role in Season 4, so it might be a big step up for her, character-wise,” one fan wrote on Reddit.

Other fans agree that we will see more involvement from Charlotte in season 4 of the series.

“She has been slow-played for most of the show,” another Redditor added. “I believe she is ripe for much more screen time and purpose in season 4, though. Wyatt and Charlotte reconnecting seems like a good bet.”

Presence of Proxima b Earth-sized planet is CONFIRMED by scientists

Presence of Proxima b Earth-sized planet is CONFIRMED by scientists who suggest it may have liquid water and host life

  • Proxima b was first spotted in 2016, but now its presence has been confirmed
  • The team used new technology to determine its mass and orbiting time
  • Proxima b has a mass 1.7 times that of Earth and orbits its star every 11 days
  • It is also close enough to its star to get the same energy Earth does from its sun
  • This suggests there may be liquid water on the surface and ability to host life

Scientist have made a breakthrough discovery – they have confirmed the presence of Proxima b, an Earth-like planet that 4.2 light-years-away from the sun.

The planet has a mass of 1.17 Earths and sits in the habitable zone of Proxima Centauri, which it orbits every 11 days.

Proxima b was first discovered in 2016 using HARPS (High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher), but the recent probe was conducted with ESPRESSO, that has three times the precision, allowing for exact data on the exoplanet’s size and timing of orbits.

The new analysis determined that the distant world receives about the same amount of energy from its star as Earth does from the sun.

This means that its surface temperature could mean that water would be in liquid form and may potentially be harboring life.

Scientist have made a breakthrough discovery – they have confirmed the existence of Proxima b, an Earth-like planet that 4.2 light-years-away from the sun. The planet has a mass of 1.17 Earths and sits in the habitable zone of Proxima Centauri, which it orbits every 11 days

Michel Mayor, winner of the Nobel Prize for Physics in 2019, honorary professor in the Faculty of Science and the ‘architect’ of all ESPRESSO-type instruments, said: ‘ESPRESSO has made it possible to measure the mass of the planet with a precision of over one-tenth of the mass of Earth.’

‘It’s completely unheard of.’

Proxima b was first discovered by astronomers using the European Southern Observatory (ESO) telescope HARPS.

‘Context. The discovery of Proxima b marked one of the most important milestones in exoplanetary science in recent years,’ reads the new study published in arXiv.

‘Yet the limited precision of the available radial velocity data and the difficulty in modelling the stellar activity calls for a confirmation of the Earth-mass planet.

The analysis determined that the distant world receives about the same amount of energy from its star as Earth does from the sun. This means that water would be in liquid form and may potentially be harboring life.

‘We aim to confirm the presence of Proxima b using independent measurements obtained with the new ESPRESSO spectrograph, and refine the planetary parameters taking advantage of its improved precision.’

The rocky planet is only 4.6 million miles from the star, 5 percent of the distance between the Earth and the sun, and takes just 11.2 days to complete one orbit.

The temperature on the surface could be between -130 and 86 Fahrenheit.

The first observation suggested the exoplanet had a mass 1.3 times the mass of Earth, but the new analysis has determined it is 1.7 times that of our planet.

Francesco Pepe, leader of the ESPRESSO research team and a professor of astronomy at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, said:’ We were already very happy with the performance of HARPS, which has been responsible for discovering hundreds of exoplanets over the last 17 years.’

‘We’re really pleased that ESPRESSO can produce even better measurements, and it’s gratifying and just reward for the teamwork lasting nearly 10 years.’

The team noted that determining the precise measurements of Proxima b brings them one-step closing to finding life on the planet.

With the theory that the exoplanet may have liquid water, the team also understands that more research is necessary to determine if life has ever developed on the surface.

On the downside, the Proxima star is an active red dwarf that bombards its planet with X rays, receiving about 400 times more than the Earth.

And any life that may have evolved would likely of been hardened against the radiation.

Your Guide To All The Iconic Ballroom Houses On HBO’s ‘Legendary’

HBO Max launched with a bang on Wednesday, May 27 with the premiere of their ballroom competition show, Legendary. The eight houses depicted in the series will compete in front of a live audience and four judges for a chance to win the ultimate $100,000 prize. But in order to get there, they have to successfully compete in nine different balls, each with a different theme.

The houses in question include more established ballroom communities like the Houses of Ninja and St. Laurent, in addition to newcomers such as Gucci and West. But only one can be crowned the winner, and the competition is steep. These balls will be judged by Law Roach, Megan Thee Stallion, Leiomy Maldonado, and most controversially, The Good Place actor Jameela Jamil, whose inclusion sparked backlash when it was announced in February 2020. Despite the blowback, however, Jamil still appears in the show, while DaShaun Wesley serves as MC and commentator.

"We’re looking for an all-around incredible house, the kind of house that just brings the screen alive, that brings the room alive," Jamil told ET Online. "We’re looking for technique, but we’re also looking for passion and beauty and creativity." Get to know all eight Legendary houses below and decide for yourself which one has what it takes.

The House of Escada

The "iconic" House of Escada, as they call themselves, includes house mother London, Yyoyo, Jazzul, Twilight, and their "secret weapon," Shyanne. "These people matter," London says in their introduction video. "They give me self-worth."

The House of Ebony

Shy, Shorty, Machante, and Xa’Pariis comprise the House of Ebony, which house mother Isla explained in Episode 1 "is historically a black house, named after Ebony Magazine." She continued, saying that as a white woman in a leadership position, she has to "protect a legacy that [she wasn’t] born into," and she considers that a "huge honor."

The House of Ninja

Ninja was founded in 1982 by Willi Ninja, but it’s currently comprised of Chise, Jamie, Sharron, Sattva, and house mother Dolores. It remains to be seen how audiences will respond to this group, but Maldonado was quick to welcome these women into the scene. "It is very important for the world to see that the ballroom community is for everyone," she told the House of Ninja after their first performance. "This is a group of cisgender women who are not only dedicated to the community and walking, they come from different places around the world. And it’s very important that you guys are here."

The Gorgeous House of Gucci

This fashion-themed house is comprised of father Jarrell and his children Miracle, Jeter, Delicious, and Deshon.

The House of West

King James founded the House of West when he was 27. "That’s something that people say you can’t do," he says in Episode 1. "But we literally took the scene by storm." Maurice, Destiny, Wilma, and Buffy round out the crew.

The House of St. Laurent

This house was depicted in the iconic ballroom documentary Paris is Burning, and current members include Mikoko, Champ, Christian, and Pretty. "We are a boutique house," house mother Miss Shalae says in Legendary. "We are very elite."

The House of Lanvin

Makaylah, Packrat, Carlos, Zay Zay, and mother Eyricka are very fashionable members of the House of Lanvin, who decked themselves out in bright red for their debut performance.

The House of Balmain

Chrissy Teigen Unveils Her COVID-19 Test Was Preparation to Getting Reverse Boob Job

Declaring that she is close to getting a surgery to remove her breast implant, the wife of John Legend shares with fans that she would like to be comfortable and to able to zip a dress in her size.

AceShowbizChrissy Teigen is planning to reverse a boob job so she can feel more comfortable.

The 34-year-old author, TV personality and model decided to reveal all about her upcoming surgery after fans quizzed her about a video of a recent coronavirus test, which she posted online.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, May 26, Teigen revealed she couldn’t go ahead with the implant removal if she wasn’t tested for COVID-19.

“So I posted myself getting a covid test on the twitter, as I’m getting surgery soon,” she explained. “A lot of people are understandably curious (and nosey!) so I’ll just say it here: I’m getting my boobs out!.”

Chrissy, who is married to singer/songwriter John Legend, added: “They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it. I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort! No biggie! So don’t worry about me! All good.”

“I’ll still have boobs, they’ll just be pure fat.”

Teigen recently opened up for the first time about undergoing breast implant surgery when she was a 20-year-old swimsuit model, telling Glamour UK, “It was more for a swimsuit thing. I thought, ‘If I’m going to be posing, laid on my back, I want them to be perky!’

“I just filled them out so they are rounder and firmer. I had a quarter ‘teardrop’ cup in the bottom and filled out the breast line.”

She admitted her feelings towards her implants have changed now she’s a mum-of-two.

“You have babies and they fill up with milk and deflate and now I am screwed,” she explained. “I want them out now. If I could do one thing, it would be to have a lift. I think you’re supposed to replace them (implants) every 10 years. But when you have kids you think about (the risks of) surgery and I think, ‘This is not the way I want to die, in boob surgery!’ “

'Counting On' Fans Blast Derick Dillard's New Look — He 'Looks Like the Dude You Warned Your Kids About'

Counting On fans are having a field day with Derick Dillard’s new look. The former Counting On star, who has made waves with his ongoing feud with Jim Bob Duggar, is now rocking a mustache that fans think is straight out of the 1970s. Here’s a quick look at how fans reacted to Derick’s new look, plus how Derick and Jill Duggar are dealing with his epic feud.

Inside Derick’s feud with Jim Bob

Derick has been making headlines as his feud with Jim Bob heats up. A few months ago, Derick took to social media and made several shocking claims about his father-in-law, including the idea that he is stealing money from his own children.

Derick says that he and Jill did not make any money for appearingon Counting On and were under the impression that everyone wasvolunteering their time on the show. He also stated that Jim Bob handles all ofthe contract negotiations with TLC and that he basically takes all the moneyfor himself.

As if that isn’t bad enough, Derick told fans that he is currently working on a tell-all memoir that will expose all of Jim Bob’s dirty secrets. He as not revealed any specifics about the tell-all, but sources believe that it might explore how Jim Bob tried to cover up Josh Duggar’s molestation scandal.

Derick left Counting On back in 2017. At the time, he hadmade some controversial remarks about the LGBTQ community on social media. Fansbelieve the network fired Derick over the comments, but he says he voluntarilyquit because of everything that was going on with Jim Bob.

Jill left the show shortly after her husband’s departure, thoughshe did enjoy a brief cameo in the most recent season.

Former ‘Counting On’ star finds herself in the middle

With Derick working on a tell-all, an inside source told TheHollywood Gossip that Jim Bob has gathered a legal team to put astop to the book. The source says that Jim Bob is preparing for a major legalbattle with Derick and is willing to do whatever he can to stop him.

While Derick and Jim Bob are squaring off in court, Jill has found herself in the middle of the feud. Jill is reportedly supporting Derick, which has put her at odds with her parents.

Insiders believe this is one reason why Jill did not post aMother’s Day tribute to Michelle Duggar on social media this year. The former CountingOn star has consistently posted in year’s past, including a sweet not in2019 that called Michelle a “selfless, joyful, patient mother.”

“She is the most loving person you’ll ever meet! She always takes timeto invest in the life of her kids and is constantly looking for ways to blessothers! I’mso grateful to have the most amazing mom in the world as my mom and a greatrole model for me and many others!” she added.

Although Jill did not share a note about her mom on Mother’s Day, her most recent post about her husband sparked a pretty hilarious reaction from Counting On fans.

‘Counting On’ fans blast Derick’s new look

Taking to social media, Jill recently shared a photo of Derick outside of their home. The pic, which Jill posted to thank Counting On fans for their birthday wishes, revealed that Derick has grown out a mustache of all things.

“Thank y’all for all the birthday wishes! I had a lovely dayyesterday and several people helped make it extra special even amidst thepandemic hardships, especially my hubby @derickdillard,” shecaptioned the image.

Counting On fans blasted Derick’s new look in the funniestway possible. While some thought he needs to “head back to the 70s,”others noted that Derick “looks like the dude you warned your kids aboutoffering puppies from a tinted-out van.”

“Derrick looks like a Baptist pastor from the 80s. That isso funny,” another fan noted.

Derick has not responded to the comments about his mustache, butit will be interesting to see if he keeps it in the coming weeks.

The rest of Jill Duggar’s famous siblings are set to return with a new season of Counting On sometime in 2020.

Police probe death of unborn baby after woman has illegal ‘abortion by post’ at 28 weeks – four weeks past limit – The Sun

POLICE are probing the death of an unborn baby after a woman took “pills by post” abortion drugs while 28 weeks pregnant.

They were mailed under a new “home abortion” scheme set up after laws were relaxed because of the pandemic.

⚠️ Read our coronavirus live blog for the latest news & updates

But she was already four weeks past the legal 24-week termination limit — and 18 weeks past a new ten-week limit for medical abortions at home under Covid-19 regulations. Her baby was stillborn.

Babies born prematurely at 28 weeks typically have a 90 per cent chance of survival.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (Bpas), which runs the “pills by post” service, has confirmed it is investigating the case, plus eight more where women were beyond the ten-week limit.

A Midlands coroner is investigating the 28-week death and police have also been informed.

Last night a whistleblower said: “The ‘pills by post’ system has been brought in but a 40-minute phone call can never be the same as a proper medical consultation.

“There needs to be a proper investigation to find out just what went wrong.”

Under the scheme, a woman must consult a trained nurse or midwife in a 40-minute phone or video chat to get a prescription, with the pills mailed out.

But critics have warned the system is ripe for abuse or error.

How the rules were changed

RULES brought in last month mean women can now have a medical abortion at home up until week ten of pregnancy.

But they must consult a medic over the phone or video chat to get a prescription, with the pills sent by post.

Previously, abortions in England could be carried out only in a hospital, by a specialist provider or by a licensed clinic.

They also had to be approved by two doctors.

The new law lasts for two years under Covid-19 measures.

And pro-life groups have claimed abortion rights campaigners have taken “advantage of this crisis” to lobby for the “backdoor policy”.

Charity Bpas typically carries out 60,000 abortions each year in the UK, with around 97 per cent referred to them from the NHS.

The new home abortions have been allowed since March 31 because of the coronavirus crisis.

It was estimated 44,000 women would need abortions in the 12 weeks from April 1.

Bpas said it has issued more than 8,000 “pills by post” treatments since the scheme began.

Medical abortions require two pills — mifepristone and misoprostol. Before the change in the law, which has a time limit of two years, abortions in England could happen only in a hospital, licensed clinic or at a specialist provider.

Two doctors would also need to certify it did not breach the terms of the 1967 Abortion Act.

Last night Clare Murphy, of Bpas, said: “The swift establishment of a telemedical early medical abortion service at the start of this crisis has been a phenomenal achievement in women’s healthcare, enabling women to safely access the care they need at home.

“It has meant women have been able to end pregnancies at the earliest gestations, protecting their health and those around them by removing the need to travel long distances to clinics where social distancing is simply not possible.

“For women who are and remain unable to leave their homes due to underlying health conditions or coercive relationships, this scheme has quite simply been life-saving.

“We are aware of a vanishingly small number of pregnancies which were treated beyond the ten week gestational band, with just one over 24 weeks.”

Notre Dame bringing students back to campus 2 weeks early

College campuses should aim for in-person instruction: Hoover Institute fellow

Hoover Institution fellow Lanhee Chen weighs in on whether or not the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention should provide guidance for schools and colleges throughout the United States.

University of Notre Dame officials have rolled out post-coronavirus plans for students to return to campus two weeks before originally scheduled, and to end before Thanksgiving, telling staff the challenge is one “we believe we can meet.”

The Notre Dame community will return to South Bend, Indiana, to begin classes the week of Aug. 10 and will no longer have the typical October break, which will allow the university to conclude the semester before Thanksgiving, University president Rev. John Jenkins recently announced in letters to faculty and staff.

He called the students' return to campus “by far the most complex challenge before us.”

WHAT IS A GAP YEAR?

“Bringing our students back is in effect assembling a small city of people from many parts of the nation and the world, who may bring with them pathogens to which they have been exposed,” Jenkins wrote in the letters. “We recognize the challenge, but we believe it is one we can meet.”

Students were asked to leave campus in the middle of March as concern surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic grew, and classes have since been held remotely, much like most other higher education institutions in the country.

5 COLLEGE DEGREES THAT MAKE THE MOST MONEY

Speaking to NBC’s "Today" show on Tuesday morning, Jenkins said university faculty and staff have much work to do to prepare in the next three months, but they needed “a target to move forward.”

“Obviously there are circumstances we can’t control,” he noted. “If there is a dramatic outbreak of the corona[virus] again, then we’ll have to adapt and change, but we wanted to set a goal.”

Officials have instructed faculty to be ready for the resurgence of COVID-19 by preparing two versions of coursework – one for in-person study and another in the event that remote learning is needed, such as for those students who must be quarantined, according to on-campus news service Notre Dame News.

THE 10 COLLEGES RECEIVING THE MOST CORONAVIRUS AID FROM THE CARES ACT

The condensed schedule aims to prevent students from being exposed while away from campus during their fall and Thanksgiving breaks and then bringing the virus back to campus with them to finish out the fall semester, Jenkins explained Tuesday.

But he later clarified that the university has is not currently planning to ban students from leaving campus or going on trips during the semester.

TUITION FEES AT COLLEGES GETTING MOST CARES ACT FUNDING: ONLINE VS. CLASSROOM

“I don’t think we’ve gone that far,” he said. “You know, what we’re going to do is talk to the students. I find young people, if it’s important and they believe in it, they step up and they challenge one another to step up. I believe that’s what’s going to happen.”

There’s been no clear answer yet as to whether the Fighting Irish will take to the football field in the fall.

The university is working on plans to provide COVID-19 testing, social distancing guidelines, face mask requirements, and extensive cleaning, as well as protocols for contact tracing, isolation and quarantining, according to Notre Dame News.

“I expect extensive testing. I think that’s a critical component of making the campus safe. Masks are going to be part of it, social distancing is going to be part of it. Quarantining, if that’s necessary, if someone tests positive,” Jenkins said. “I don’t have all the details yet, but I believe with all those components, with a robust plan, we can have a safe campus where students learn and grow.”

Despite strict HRI protocols Brentford Hope could still be Irish Derby bound and Epsom looking more unlikely

RICHARD Hughes is still Hope-ful of a trip to Ireland.

Strict protocols have been brought in by the HRI that means anyone attending a fixture from abroad must isolate for 14 days prior.

It means a big headache for the top jockeys and any trainers who had ambitions of an Irish raid.

But Hughes has not been put off and still wishes to weigh up a run in the Irish Derby with Brentford Hope on June 27.

It means any staff travelling over with the horse would need to be in Ireland for June 13.

Hughes told Sun Racing: “It’s still up in the air a bit but we are still looking to go to Ireland I think, the 14 day isolation is what it is if needed.

“The fixture list came out over here and I’m not sure we’ll be looking to go to Epsom. The owner [Sean Mulryan] isn’t the biggest fan of the course, he’s a horseman.”

The three-year-old is as short as 20-1 for the Derby but with none of the trials to Hughes' liking, punters should beware.

He explained: “We’re still not doing much with him at home up until the other day when the fixtures came out which I thought was a bit of a knee-jerk reaction.

“I think a few trainers like me thought that when we didn’t get going in May that the Classics would be put back.

“And then all of a sudden the Guineas are on the sixth of June. And that meant a lot of the Derby trials are in the first week and nothing stood out to target.”

There has also been plenty of debate about the allocation of guaranteed places in races for two-year-olds in the opening weeks.

The BHA revealed certain trainers would receive preference based on their previous records with juveniles, in the hope of getting the best horses at Royal Ascot.

Hughes received two slots but won’t be throwing all his eggs in the Ascot basket this season.

He said: “I’ve got two allocated spots for my two-year-olds so we were pleased enough with that.

“I should have those filled and hopefully we can get a couple of others in.

“Who knows if any of them will be good enough for Ascot anyway, I’m not sure it’ll be the be all and end all this season anyway.

“You can do plenty of damage running horses there so soon and this year round it’s even quicker. If they’re not good enough, there’s no harm waiting.”

Dennis Rodman missed Chicago Bulls practice in 1998 NBA Finals to wrestle with Hulk Hogan – The Sun

DENNIS RODMAN missed practice during the 1998 NBA Finals in order to take part in a WWE show alongside Hulk Hogan.

The American played a key role in the star-studded Chicago Bulls side featuring Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

But the day after game three in the season-defining series, with the Bulls holding a precious 2-1 lead over the Utah Jazz, Rodman jetted off to Michigan to record a WCW Nitro show with Hulk Hogan.

Such eccentric behaviour would have been jaw-dropping from most players, but coach Phil Jackson knew that he had to indulge his colourful 6ft 7in star to get the best out of him.

Rodman, now 59, had regularly risked injury by appearing on WCW at the time – and even had a rivalry with Jazz star Karl Malone.

And on The Last Dance, the hit ten-part Netflix series documenting Jordan's career, Rodman shed some light on the bizarre situation.

I was just trying to play basketball, party, da, da, da, da. F*** all the girls. Just be me. Dennis s**t, you know.

He said: "I wasn't trying to do anything.

"I was just trying to play basketball, party, da, da, da, da. F*** all the girls. Just be me. Dennis s**t, you know."

In surreal scenes, Rodman can be seen beating on Diamond Dallas Page with a steel chair.

He continued: "I think Phil [Jackson] realised that I needed to always do me, just go do what I do. They’re gonna get 100 per cent when I’m on the court."

And amazingly, the Bulls went on to win the championship, taking it 4-2 in game six.

Rodman himself contributed enormously – posting a series-high 50 rebounds across the six games.

Having defeated Malone on the court, Rodman then faced him again that summer, this time in the ring alongside Hogan – with his Jazz rival teaming up with Page.

And for a second time that year, Rodman reigned victorious.

He also engaged in high-profile relationships at the time with Madonna and Carmen Electra – and in recent years has buddied up with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

Melissa Etheridge’s daughter Bailey, 23, says she’s ‘heartbroken’ over brother Beckett’s opioid death at 21 – The Sun

MELISSA Etheridge’s daughter Bailey is “heartbroken” over the opioid death of her younger brother at just 21 years old.

Melissa, 58, revealed over Twitter on Wednesday that her son with ex Julie Cypher “succumbed” to his battle with addiction.

Bailey, 23, posted a sweet tribute to her late brother on Twitter.

She captioned a series of childhood photos with her brother: “I don’t know what to say. Today we lost my brother. Too heartbroken and overwhelmed to be eloquent but appreciate all those who have reached out.

“I love you Beckett. Fly high and watch over us.”

Melissa’s team released a statement on her Twitter Wednesday: ”We’re sad to inform you that Melissa’s son Beckett passed away and there will not be a Concerts From Home show today.”

Melissa then revealed the tragic cause of death.

She tweeted: “Today we joined the hundreds of thousands of families who have lost loved ones to opioid addiction. My son Beckett, who was just 21, struggled to overcome his addiction and finally succumbed to it today. He will be missed by those who loved him, his family and friends.

“My heart is broken. I am grateful for those who have reached out with condolences and I feel their love and sincere grief.”

She continued: “We struggle with what else we could have done to save him, and in the end we know he is out of pain now.”

Melissa added that she “will sing again, soon,” as it has “always healed” her.

Melissa and Julie welcomed Beckett via artificial insemination in November 1998 after the birth of Bailey in February 1997.

It was later revealed that their biological father is singer David Crosby.

Melissa and Julie split in 2000.

They lived in near each other in order to focus on their co-parenting.

The singer is also mom to 13-year-old twins, son Miller and daughter Johnnie, from her relationship with Tammy Lynn Michaels, who she split with in 2010.

She is now married to Linda Wallem, who she tied the knot with in 2014.
