Killing Eve season 3: Why isn’t all of Killing Eve season 3 on BBC iPlayer?

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

Killing Eve season three has been airing weekly on Mondays on BBC iPlayer with episode seven landing next. The drama is set six months after Villanelle (played by Jodie Comer) shot intelligence investigator Eve (Sandra Oh) and fans have almost reached the end of the series. The dark comedy thriller series also airs on Sunday nights on BBC One.

Why isn’t all of Killing Eve season 3 on BBC iPlayer?

The third series of Killing Eve, which picks up from the dramatic cliffhanger in Rome, recently started airing on BBC iPlayer in the UK.

But fans have noticed not all of the eight episodes in the new series are available to watch on the streaming platform, which is also showing series one and two.

The BBC has said series three will be streaming weekly on BBC iPlayer as of Monday, April 13 and will later air on BBC One from Sunday, April 19.

The episodes on iPlayer will be available to watch from 6am on Mondays, and the new series will then air at 9pm on BBC One.

A reason as to why not all the episodes have been dropped at once has not been given, but the likely answer is so spoilers are not revealed before other people start the series on BBC One.

  • Killing Eve season 3: Is Killing Eve a true story?

Not everyone will have access to BBC iPlayer which means some fans are going to have to wait an extra week to start watching the new series.

If all the episodes were dropped on iPlayer at once, there is a big chance it would get spoiled for fans who have not yet had the chance to watch it.

Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content, said it was an exciting time for both the cast and fans of the show.

She said: “The fierce women of multi-award-winning Killing Eve are returning exclusively to BBC iPlayer and BBC One once again, to entertain the nation with more explosive action and breathtaking cliffhangers.

“I promise you that series three of this unmissable drama has been worth the wait.”

Fans were left heartbroken after one of the main characters was killed off in the first episode of the new series.

The cat and mouse saga continues with British writer Suzanne Heathcote (Fear The Walking Dead) on board as lead writer and executive producer, continuing the tradition of passing the baton to a new female writing voice.

A synopsis of the new series said: “Whilst Villanelle believes Eve is dead, Eve is hoping to hide in plain sight, until a death sets them on a collision course once more.”

Dame Harriet Walter will be joining the series as Dasha, someone Villanelle used to train with during her earlier days as an assassin.

The series is based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings and sees Villanelle as the main character.

The BBC said Killing Eve is already BBC iPlayer’s biggest non-continuous drama of all time, with nearly 100million requests to watch the first two series so far.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the new series, Oh said: “The challenge to continue the relationship, to not repeat but to go deeper into it, is more difficult.”

Comer added: “The characters are in a totally different place, there’s a shift in energy and it’s moving forward with that.”

Both characters said trying to get the perfect balance between the wit and the darkness was one of the most challenging aspects of filming.

Comer has also teased what fans can expect in the new series, following the thrilling cliffhanger which shocked fans as Eve was shot.

She said: “That’s something that we’re going to look at and have to think about in [season] 3. As we tap into this woman’s emotions more or getting into the psyche of what she does feel and what she doesn’t feel, it’s: what is it about this woman that has such a hold?

“There’s so much to delve into in regards to that. We have to think about if she’s shooting her to kill her.”

  • Killing Eve cast: Who plays Geraldine in Killing Eve?

Fans who have not yet watched the first episode should stay away from Twitter if they want to avoid spoilers, have fans have already revealed a huge plot twist.

For those in America, they were in for a treat after AMC Networks moved the third season premiere forward by two weeks, as it had an original air date of April 26.

Speaking to Deadline Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios, said: “We know how adored this series is and we know how keen people are for great content right now.

“This season of Killing Eve digs deep psychologically, and with actors like Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw the results are nothing short of astonishing. We literally couldn’t wait for fans to see it.”

Homecoming season 3 release date: Will there be another series of Homecoming?

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

Homecoming is a popular psychological thriller series airing on Prime Video since November 2018. The second series was given the green light and it first aired on the streaming platform on May 22, 2020. Fans are now wondering whether a third series will be given the go-ahead and here is everything you need to know.

WARNING: This story contains spoilers for Homecoming

When will Homecoming season 3 be out?

Homecoming is an American psychological thriller series which is based on the podcast of the same name.

Fans knew from the outset at least two seasons would air, with the second season taking a turn away from the original podcast.

New characters and stories were created for the second season, which was directed by Kyle Patrick Alvarez, and fans are already loving the creative spin.

Sadly as the new season has only just aired, it is too early to say whether a third series will be commissioned, although showrunners have hinted at a new season.

If a new season does get the go-ahead it is likely to air towards the end of 2021.

Who will be in the cast of Homecoming season 3?

A number of new characters were introduced to the new series and fans are keen to see more of them in a season three.

Hong Chau plays Audrey Temple, an assistant at Homecoming’s parent company called Geist Emergent Group.

Janelle Monáe plays Alex, also known as Jackie – a woman who goes in search of her identity after waking up on a canoe boat.

Chris Cooper may return as Leonard Geist, the owner of Geist Emergent Group, alongside Joan Cusack as Bunda, a representative for the Department of Defense who later works for Geist.

The series also includes a number of guest stars and recurring characters, so fans will have to keep an eye out for new faces in season three.

Is there a trailer for Homecoming season 3?

Sadly a season three has not yet been given the green light, there will not be a trailer available for some time.

Trailers usually drop a couple of months before the new season is released, so fans will be waiting until next year to see a new teaser.

However showrunners told Digital Spy there were “plenty of ideas for a third season” so it sounds like there is more content to come.

Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg, who created the podcast, said: “We want you to have that feeling every time of thinking, ‘They told me a full story, they are not withholding something from me. But I enjoy this enough that I would spend some more time in this world.’

“Part of the magic trick for us is to tell what feels like this whole complete story and then when we go into the next part of the story, show you where the trap door was.

“There would hopefully be this feeling of satisfaction and that you didn’t know everything that first time.”

What will happen in Homecoming season 3?

Season two ended with Walter Cruz (Stephan James), a young military veteran, get revenge on Geist by joining with Leonard.

The pair spike everyone’s drinks at a party which causes them to pass out and suffer memory loss.

A new season is likely to pick up immediately after the party, with fans seeing the outcome of Walter and Leonard’s plan.

Showrunners have said a new series would explore “new and interesting avenues”, so a third season may take an entirely different direction.

The new season could in fact jump back in time to before the events of the first series took place.

  • The Grand Tour season 4 delay: Boss reveals set back on Amazon series

Fans have already taken to social media to praise the director of the latest series, with one fan saying on Twitter: “I just flew through Homecoming season two and it was so damn good. I’m legitimately sad that it’s over. Phenomenal job.”

Kyle Patrick Alvarez spoke to The Playlist about how he preferred making 30- minute episodes and he hopes to do this more in the future.

He said: “In the TV space, what I’m most excited about and hopefully being able to get to do more, is I’m excited with how you play with format and that’s what Homecoming does.

“It’s a 30-minute thriller, that’s not really a thing that existed, or there’s not a lot of it, right? It’s always an hour-long or it’s always got to be this giant global spanning thing.

“And here, this is these seven short episodes and there’s something thrilling about that, there’s something digestible about that.

“You’re asking less of a commitment from an audience and because of that, you can play more and you can play with expectations more. So I hope to get to keep on doing that and keep on, really as simple as saying, I would love to just keep making 30-minute drops.”

Simon has been part of the show since it first debuted in 2007 and enters series 14 this year.

“That’s what we set out to do with this show in the first place.

“I personally like judging someone who has never done this before, I find the whole process more interesting.

“I think you relate more to people who are just out there giving it a go, 100%. I wanted to have that warmth to the show.

“The whole idea of making a show like this is it should be escapism, it should, like with Paul, he famously tossed a coin in the air over whether he should audition or not, he did and this was 14 years ago and now he’s selling out tours and made a fortune. The show changed his life.”

John Lennon family feud: Is son Julian close to Yoko Ono? Inside relationship

Julian Lennon is the eldest son of John Lennon and was born to the Beatles singer and his first wife Cynthia. However, John left his first wife for Yoko Ono, with whom he had his “planned” child Sean. Julian and Yoko went to court over John’s will, leaving many to believe there is a long-lasting rivalry between them.

Is Julian Lennon close to Yoko Ono?

Julian has spoken openly about his father’s second wife Yoko and son Sean although some of his comments are far more thinly veiled.

In an interview with The Telegraph in 1998, asked about whether he had a rivalry with his half-brother, Sean, he replied: “It’s news to me. I love Sean to death. He’s a very smart kid.

“But I do think there are things done without his knowledge. Someone in the camp could be manipulating events.

“She wants to make sure Sean’s OK, whatever it takes.”

Part of this could come from Julian’s previous anger at his own father, who once spoke about how Julian was the result of “whiskey” compared to his “planned” son, Sean.

Julian said of his father: “Dad could talk about peace and love out loud to the world but he could never show it to the people who supposedly meant the most to him: his wife and son.

“How can you talk about peace and love and have a family in bits and pieces – no communication, adultery, divorce? You can’t do it, not if you’re being true and honest with yourself.”

However, speaking directly about Yoko, he called her “a hardball, a very strong woman.”

He added: “I admire her – she’s a tough cookie – but I don’t necessarily agree with her”.

There was a well-publicised battle between the pair as Julian attempted to gain a further settlement from the John Lennon estate, which was once estimated to be around £220million.

In the original divorce settlement between John and Cynthia, Julian would receive £2,400 a year in maintenance before inheriting a £50,000 trust fund when he was aged 25, compared to his younger brother, who would be the main beneficiary of John’s huge earnings.

  • Beatles albums: Which is the best Beatles album? VOTE NOW

Julian eventually secured a further settlement from the estate in 1996, but the number was never revealed, and it saw Julian go up against the main executor of the estate, Yoko.

In the end, Julian used a great deal of this to buy back some of his father’s possessions, including an Afghan coat worn by John on the cover of the Magical Mystery Tour, and scribbled notes about the song Hey Jude, which is written about him.

However, since then, Julian has spoken more favourably of Yoko.

Speaking on SiriusXM, he said: “Yoko and I have had our issues in the past, but I have to say that I was actually blown away by how much involvement she really [had in the Imagine album, as shown in documentary Above Us Only Sky].

  • John Lennon wife: Who is Sean Lennon’s mother? Did she have Julian?

“She wasn’t in the background; she was part of the mix. No question about it.

“And I was quite surprised and I was, you know, I have to say I bow down to her involvement.

“She guided him pretty well through that album. I really believe that. Obviously, he was at the forefront, but her inspiration came through.”

Clearly there is now an admiration between them, and Yoko has echoed these sentiments in recent comments.

While attending Julian’s photography exhibitions, Sean said of his brother: “Julian is the reason I started playing music. Because when I was a kid, when his first record, Vallotte hit the charts, it was the biggest thing…”

Following this, Yoko declared: “Julian is the biggest thing in our family.”

Other than this, Yoko has said very little about Julian in the past, despite their highly-publicised disputes.

It may be after years of differences, the pair are finally on better terms.

Power boss Courtney Kemp reveals the surprising real people who inspired Ghost

We will use your email address only for sending you newsletters. Please see our Privacy Notice for details of your data protection rights.

The thrilling mystery behind the murder of Ghost (played by Omari Hardwick) was finally exposed in the season six finale of Power. Now the Starz series is preparing to launch four new spin-offs, showrunner Courtney Kemp revealed the surprising inspiration behind the show’s enigmatic protagonist.

Never miss a royal update again by signing up to the Daily Express Royal Family newsletter

Season six of Power was set to be the gripping crime thriller’s last instalment, as fans tried to guess the culprit behing the shocking murder of Ghost.

James St. Patrick, better known by his street name Ghost, carried the series as a powerful drug lord trying to cut ties with his life of crime and began a new career as a legitimate business owner.

As Ghost tries to balance his life caught between two worlds he also tries to evade the police, keep his finances afloat and withstand the pressure of a crumbling marriage.

Throughout the show’s impressive six seasons Ghost became one of TV’s most watchable new characters when he was introduced to screens in 2014.

  • Power showrunner speaks out on Ghost’s return to Starz series

Now the main series has concluded, fans are currently waiting for coronavirus lockdown restrictions to be lifted so Starz can begin work on the recently announced spin-offs.

In the meantime, showrunner Courtney Kemp has answered fans’ questions about the show during a live video chat on her Instagram page.

One of the biggest questions on her followers’ minds was the inspiration behind the series’ complex lead.

A fan tuned in and proposed Ghost could have been inspired by a recurring character in The Good Wife, Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter).

Lemond was a Chicago drug lord who often caused trouble for the law firm Lockhart/Gardner and was a breakthrough role for Luke Cage star Mike Coulter.

However, Courtney was able to reveal Ghost was actually inspired by two very real figures.

During the Instagram Q&A she said: “No, Ghost was inspired by my Dad and 50 Cent.”

Famous rapper Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, began his early life selling drugs before pursuing a musical career and other business ventures.

50 Cent also served as an executive producer for Power as well as providing much of the show’s music.

Additionally, the first episode of Power was dedicated to Courtney’s father, Herbert Kemp Jr., who sadly passed away in 2011.

Courtney elaborated: “Lemond Bishop isn’t scary. He’s not really that frightening. He was played a little bit frightening, Mike Colter really played him beautifully. But it’s not the same kind of intensity as Ghost.”

After Ghost’s shocking death by his own son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), dedicated viewers have been speculating how the spin-off series will fare following the loss of such a major presence.

  • Power: Ghost’s return to Starz universe ‘sealed’ – but there’s a catch

During the Q&A, Courtney also seemed to dismiss calls for Ghost to make a surprise reappearance at some point in the upcoming spin-offs.

When rejecting the idea she joked: “All of these are so adorable. I love it when people tell me how to do my job. Isn’t that great?”

Thankfully, there is still a stellar cast left to head the upcoming spin-offs, and newcomers Mary J Blige and Method Man are certain to make Power Book II essential viewing.

Power season 6 is available to watch on Netflix.

Steph McGovern hits back as fan queries her new solo move ‘I don’t make the rules’

Presenter Steph McGovern, 37, shared a picture of herself filming in a pub, with the camera man standing more than two metres away. The host could be seen sat at a table as she filmed a piece to camera.

Sharing details of her new move, the host said: “Out filming.

“First time I’ve properly left the house to do work for yonks. It feels like a right treat.

“Doing a documentary about travel…looking at what to do if you have a hol booked + what it’s going to be like when we can go on them again.”

Steph concluded her post telling fans her new show, titled, How to Go on Holiday This Summer, will be on Channel 4 this Sunday.

Many of the host’s 402,000 followers flocked to her post to comment on her announcement.

While many expressed their excitement for her latest move, one person in particular queried why she was allowed to film during lockdown.

They wrote: “Nice to go out filming inside other peoples homes and business’s while we can not see our own family.”

Hitting back, Steph replied: “Hi Rob, the rules state I can work if I can social distance while doing it and that’s what I’m doing.

“I am not filming inside anyone’s home and I can’t see my family either.

“I know it’s daft that I can do this but we can’t see our families but I didn’t make the rules.”

Prime Minister Boris Johnson eased lockdown rules earlier this month, following a decrease in the daily UK coronavirus death toll.

He encouraged citizens to go back to work, as long as they stay two metres away from colleagues and stay safe.

He added it is not okay for people to visit other people’s households, even if they are family or friends.

Citizens can meet one person outside of their household in a public place, if they are two metres apart.

Steph’s new project comes just weeks after she told fans she will no longer be airing The Steph Show from her home.

The presenter had changed her original plan of filming in a studio to filming from her home due to the current pandemic.

But, the former BBC Breakfast star admitted it had been getting in the way of her family life.

Steph lives with her girlfriend and their six-month-old daughter.

She told fans last month: “We’ve decided it’s time to have a break and give my family our home back.

“The proper programme will be launching when the Leeds studio is sorted, I may still be wearing slippers.”
