Man charged in case of dead baby Evelyn Boswell is arrested for child abuse and neglect – The Sun

THE boyfriend of Evelyn Boswell's grandmother is in custody after being charged with child abuse and neglect, as well as violating a protection and domestic assault order, say cops.

William McCloud, 33, allegedly assaulted a woman "while on meth", according to a Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office report.

McCloud is the partner of Angela Boswell – the grandmother of baby Evelyn Boswell, whose remains were found at the Boswell family compound in March.

Officials from the force told WJHL that he was booked into the Sullivan County Detention Center, Blountville in Tennessee, today.

He was arrested after sheriffs spoke to a woman, 37, who claimed she was his ex-girlfriend.

She also said she was the mom of McCloud's eight-year-old child in Bristol, Tennessee.

The woman told deputies that McCloud had been at her home on Saturday night for dinner.

According to the sheriffs' report, she alleged that McCloud began to assault her and that “she believed he was possibly under the influence of methamphetamine".

The report adds that while McCloud was allegedly assaulting his ex, their child allegedly tried to stop the attack on his mom.

It's alleged that McCloud hit the youngster in the face.

After being arrested at a nearby property, he was booked into jail, and given a bond of $50,000 for the domestic assault charge.

No additional bond has been set for the child abuse and neglect charges, or the violation of an order of protection.

His arrest comes as the mom of Evelyn Mae Boswell has been indicted on 11 more charges in the death of her 15-month-old baby girl.

A grand jury indicted Megan Boswell on 11 counts on May 20 for making false statements to detectives in February amid the search for her daughter, Knox News reported.

Boswell had been charged with filing a false police report on February 25 after cops say she gave them inaccurate and conflicting statements and delayed their investigation into Evelyn’s disappearance.

Evelyn was last seen in December, according to police, but wasn’t reported missing until February 18, which was when an Amber Alert was issued in search of her.

After a 17-day search across three states, police announced they believe to have found Evelyn’s remains.

Her body was eventually found on the property of her grandmother's ex-boyfriend on March 6 in Tennessee, dumped with toys, diapers and her baby clothing.

Court-appointed attorney Brad Sproles had been appointed Boswell’s lawyer after she was charged in February, however, the appointment ended when the case surrounding the false police report charge was bound over to a grand jury.

Boswell originally told them her daughter Evelyn was with her dad, Ethan Perry — but they soon realized he was stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Polk in Louisiana and didn’t have Evelyn, cops said.

She later said her mom, Angela Boswell, took Evelyn to a campground in Mendota, Virginia, but cops found no sign of the girl in the area.

Earlier this month, Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Captain Joey Strickler announced a "person of interest" is currently being investigated during a Wednesday interview with News Channel 11.

As of yet no one has been charged with the Evelyn's murder and authorities have not said how she died.

Megan's is set to appear in court next on June 19.

She remains held in the Sullivan County Jail on a $150,000 bond, WJHl reported.

Beyonce rides shotgun in a convertible vintage Mercedes Benz – The Sun

BEYONCE was spotted riding shotgun in a convertible vintage Mercedes Benz.

The singer, 38, donned a mask, sunglasses and a hair wrap as she rode in the passenger side of the car.

While Beyonce rode along in the vintage vehicle, her bodyguards were driving their usual black Escalade behind.

In one photo she's seen speaking animatedly with a mystery person, then in the other she's adjusting her face mask – which has an upside down B on it.

The superstar appears to be ignoring the backlash against Lana Del Rey after she "compared herself" to pop stars Beyonce, Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj in a furious Instagram post earlier in the week.

The 34-year-old singer was slammed for being “racially insensitive” after she criticized "a group of mostly black women” in her controversial comments.

While talking about her upcoming album, she shaded her music colleagues – which also included Cardi B, Kehlani, Camila Cabello and Ariana Grande, for ”wearing no clothes.”

In the post Lana titled a “question for the culture,” she also said she was “fed up with female writers.”

Fans were livid about her comments which consisted of almost all women of color.

“I don’t know who was giving Lana Del Rey a hard time but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Black women. Girl, sing your little cocaine carols and leave us alone,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another fired off: “Think Lana’s post would have been fine if she hadn’t compared herself to a group of mostly black women with the clear tone that she thinks she’s been treated worse by the media when that’s observably untrue.”

After the wave of criticism hit, Lana broke her silence Thursday and doubled down on her original comments.

"Bro. This is sad to make it about a WOC issue when I’m talking about my favorite singers. I could’ve literally said anyone but I picked my favorite f**king people.

"And this is the problem with society today, not everything is about whatever you want it to be. It’s exactly the point of my post – there are certain women that culture doesn’t want to have a voice it may not have to do with race I don’t know what it has to do with.

"I don’t care anymore but don’t ever ever ever ever bro- call me racist because that is bulls**t," she sounded off.

Sentences for coughing in the faces of key workers could be DOUBLED

Sentences for people who cough in the faces of key workers could be DOUBLED and they must ‘face the full force of the law’, says Priti Patel

  • Coronavirus crisis has seen numerous reports of people coughing on key staff
  • Currently common assault on emergency worker can mean one year in prison
  • Priti Patel today said she is looking at doubling it to up to two years in prison
  • Here’s how to help people impacted by Covid-19

Priti Patel today warned that people who cough in the faces of key workers during the coronavirus outbreak could see their prison sentence doubled.

The Home Secretary confirmed she is considering increasing the punishment for such offences from one year to two years.

There have been numerous reports of people coughing in the faces of emergency service workers on purpose in recent weeks.

Ms Patel said anyone found guilty of such an assault must face the ‘full force of the law’.

Priti Patel, pictured in Downing Street on May 14, said today sentences for assaults on emergency workers could be doubled

A new law introduced in 2018 increased the maximum sentence for the offence of common assault or battery on an emergency worker from six to 12 months.

But a rash of offences during the current crisis has prompted Ms Patel to weigh up whether the current punishment is enough of a deterrent.

During an appearance on LBC Radio this morning, Ms Patel was asked what should happen to people who cough in the face of police officers and other essential staff.

The Home Secretary replied that they ‘will feel the full force of the law’.

Asked what that actually means Ms Patel said: ‘And that’s rightly so. Well we’ve seen some people be convicted and rightly.

‘So going through the magistrates courts, going through the court process, well being arrested…’

Pushed on whether the sentences should be increased, Ms Patel said they could soon be doubled.

Replying to host Nick Ferrari, she said: ‘So Nick you know that I am looking at that right now.

‘We’re on our fourth piece of legislation in four weeks. We are doing more, particularly around assaults on key, on emergency workers and on police officers.

‘I’m looking to double the sentences and we’re going to do that. I’ve been absolutely clear with the police about that.

‘I speak to the police about this every single week. We are going to do that.’

Heidi Klum poses in lingerie while getting ‘social distancing highlights’

Heidi Klum couldn’t bear the thought of one more bad hair day.

The supermodel, 46, got a house call from hairstylist Lorenzo Martin on Tuesday to touch up her blond tresses, and showed off the process on Instagram.

“Dahhling we found a way !😷😷 Social distancing highlights,” wrote Klum, who wore nothing but black lace lingerie, fishnet tights, high heels and a face mask for her appointment. Martin also wore a mask, along with gloves, glasses and a makeshift body shield fashioned out of a black umbrella.

Plenty of people praised Klum’s creativity in the comments. “Only you !! Love it,” wrote fellow catwalker Naomi Campbell, whose own safety precautions during the coronavirus crisis have made headlines. “Omg amazing!!!” added celebrity makeup artist Linda Hay.

But others weren’t impressed by the “America’s Got Talent” judge’s decision to bend social distancing guidelines. “This is a joke, right?” one person asked, while another commented, “I thought social distancing meant 6 ft away?”

“What’s the point of the umbrella,” another perplexed follower asked, to which Klum replied, “To maybe get a smile.”

The supermodel fell ill in mid-March and was tested for COVID-19 along with her husband, Tom Kaulitz; the couple, who isolated from each other while awaiting their results, both tested negative for the disease.

Body found in search for Shad Gaspard tragically ‘matches’ WWE star after he was pulled out to sea in rip current – The Sun

A BODY found in the search for former WWE star Shad Gaspard has been confirmed as the missing ex-wrestler's.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lifeguard Division announced it had been identified as the 39-year-old’s this afternoon after he was caught and taken out to sea in a rip current at Venice Beach, California on Sunday, according to KCAL-TV News Reporter Tina Patel.

The 39-year-old Gaspard, who shot to fame as one of half of the Cryme Tyme tag team in WWE, went missing around 4pm on Sunday while swimming with his young son when they were caught in a rip tide.

Los Angeles County Fire Department lifeguards jumped in the water and rescued his 10-year-old boy Aryeh first at his father's request, but Gaspard soon disappeared before he could also be saved.

Now it has been confirmed the brave star failed to survive.

Pono Barnes, a lifeguard specialist with the Los Angeles Fire Department, described what happened, saying: "That group was stuck in one of the rip currents and were swimming just north of the lifeguard tower.

"That's why lifeguards were able to get there so soon, but unfortunately, one did, however, submerge."

A witness also told several news outlets that Gaspard instructed lifeguards to help his son out of the ocean first, but then another large wave crashed down on the former wrestler.

On Tuesday afternoon,  the Coast Guard announced the search was suspended "after 16.5 hours of searching with multiple rescue assets covering 70 square nautical miles and seven search patterns."

Barnes added: "That surf that we have paired with a little bit of wind and good tidal swing today made rip currents a little bit more prevalent and a little bit stronger.".

Gaspard was spending Sunday at the beach with his son and wife.

After the search was suspended for his body yesterday, his wife Siliana released a statement thanking fans for their well wishes and the authorities who participated in the rescue effort.

She wrote: “We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders who rescued Aryeh and to the lifeguards, Coast Guard, divers, fire and police departments for their continued efforts to help find our beloved Shad.

“Shad is a fighter, a warrior and a magical soul. We are hoping and praying for his safe return. As a family we thank you all for your concern and well wishes. Please continue to keep sending your positivity and prayers to our beloved Shad.”

Gaspard is most known for his work with partner JTG in the WWE tag team Cryme Time.

Last week he posted a touching photo with his son at the beach – just days before he vanished during an ocean swim.

A host of stars have publicly offered support to the distraught Gaspard family.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tweeted: “My prayers and hope for Shad Gaspard's wife, son and family during this unthinkable time.

“Man, this is a tough one. A really tough one. Great guy.”

WWE chairman Vince McMahon wrote: “The thoughts of everyone at WWE are with Shad Gaspard's family during this difficult time.”

Kevin Owens tweeted: “I just read the awful news about Shad Gaspard. I can't imagine what his family is going through. My thoughts go out to them.”

And Mick Foley added: “This is just terrible news about Shad Gaspard being missing. I am thinking and praying for Shad, his family, and all those who love him.”

Meanwhile, Gaspard's former team-mate JTG shared a poignant text message he received from his friend, which said: “If ever I die tomorrow, just know I love you as a brother and a friend for ever, even past this life.”

Gaspard retired from WWE in 2010 and would go on to appear in various movies and TV programs, including Get Hard alongside Kevin Hart.

Sunderland in yet more humiliation as PSV Eindhoven youngster Wouter Verstraaten snubs them for non-league South Shields – The Sun

SUNDERLAND have suffered some embarrassing moments in the last few years, with many of them caught on camera by a certain hit Neflix series.

And while Sunderland 'Til I Die won't have recorded this one, non-league footballer Wouter Verstraaten has just added to the Black Cats' series of humiliations… by rejecting them to stay in non-league.

The Dutchman, 24, was a promising young player at PSV Eindhoven.

But after spells at FC Eindhoven and Portland Timbers, he has found himself plying his trade in non-league for South Shields while studying at Durham University.

Having impressed in 14 appearances, however, Sunderland decided to offer him the chance to return to the professional game – initially handing him a trial in February.

Verstraaten, who can play either as a defender or midfielder, featured for the Black Cats' Under-23s against a Liverpool side featuring the likes of Harvey Elliott, Pedro Chirivella, Neco Williams and Curtis Jones.

He did sufficiently well to earn an offer, but has elected to politely decline.

There are not many places where the stage is set every weekend like it is at South Shields.

Upon committing his future to South Shields, he told the club's official website: "I feel that it is the right place for me to grow as a player and improve in areas that will help me perform to a higher level.

“It is a pleasure to play in front of such a big crowd every week. There are not many places where the stage is set every weekend like it is at South Shields.

“I’m currently back in the Netherlands staying fit and spending some time with my family and I’m in regular contact with the management, but we just have to wait to see when the Government allows us to get back together.”

Among the Black Cats' other recent embarrassments are Darron Gibson's pub rant against his team-mates, Jack Rodwell earning over £40,000-a-week in the Championship and Martin Bain's… well, Martin Bain.

The latest series of Sunderland 'Til I Die also illustrated some of their transfer mishaps, namely splashing out £4million on Will Grigg, a striker that former manager Jack Ross even admitted to not thinking was worth half that.

The Scot faced the agony of seeing his side twice lose out at Wembley last season in the Checkatrade Trophy and League One Playoff finals, and new boss Phil Parkinson had them floating in seventh prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

Caprice has claimed that she and husband Ty Comfort are having more sex than ever sex in lockdown and said it’s ‘essential otherwise he goes nuts.’

She told Closer, she said: ‘I’ve got to keep my sex life up, otherwise my husband goes nuts! It’s essential.

‘Sex is essential in lockdown… else my husband goes nuts’: Caprice, 48, told Closer she and Ty Comfort, 53, are getting more action than ever despite feeling tired from homeschooling kids

‘Normally, I want to rip Ty’s clothes off all the time. I fancy the pants off him, but homeschooling and cleaning the house is so exhausting – sometimes I spend all day in my PJs.

She continued: ‘You can’t be lazy, though, because once you let it go, it never comes back! I make an effort to dress up twice a week for a date night.

‘It makes you feel human again – you have to look after yourself in this crazy time.’

And Caprice admits she’s careful with her body – doing online Barrecore classes (an exercise combining ballet-inspired moves with Pilates and strength training) six times a week, alongside eating a healthy, balanced diet.

She said of Ty, who she married in December: ‘Normally, I want to rip Ty’s clothes off all the time. I fancy the pants off him, but homeschooling and cleaning the house is so exhausting’ (pictured in January)

After putting in the work, she’s planning on stripping off for her milestone birthday next year. She said: ‘I’ll do a naked shoot to mark my 50th birthday.

‘It’s hard to believe I’ll be that age, but I’m not scared. I’m embracing it. Look at how amazing J-Lo is at 50 – she’s smoking hot. I’ve got my kids, my amazing husband, a thriving business, and I’ve grafted my whole life to earn it all myself.

‘I was insecure in my twenties but now the bulls**t doesn’t affect me and I know what my priorities are. I’ll be better than ever at 50!’

The 5ft 9 star quit Dancing On Ice early in February this year, amid an alleged row with her skating partner, Hamish Gaman – which she has strongly denied.

Family: The couple are parents to Jax and Jett, six, and Ty has daughter from a previous relationship

She said: ‘With all the stress, I went down to the skinniest I’ve ever been – just 8st 9lbs. I was just skin and bone. I looked gross and my husband really didn’t like it.

‘Now I’m back to 9st 8lbs and I feel so much better. I’m over it, it’s in the past and I’ve moved on.’

But while she is loving life in the bedroom, Caprice said she is missing her Botox sessions and can’t wait to get it again when lockdown is officially over.

She said: ‘I haven’t had Botox in five months and I can’t handle it. I’ve also got roots in my hair and I’m not sure I suit au naturel.

‘I’m having Botox as soon as lockdown is lifted – I only have a bit around my eyes. I don’t want any extreme plastic surgery, though. I don’t need it… Yet!’

In December, Caprice finally married Ty in a secret ceremony at a London registry office, but she said her second wedding will definitely be bigger next year.

She said: ‘We’re going to have a major rager in Ibiza! We’re going to take over a whole hotel and fly all our friends and family out. I love the ’90s – so we’ll have all the bands playing from that era.

‘It’s going to be a second wedding, Ty and me celebrating ten years together, and my 50th. It will be a blast!’
