AFTER Life fans ‘can’t stop crying’ just five minutes into Netflix’s heart-wrenching season two.
The Ricky Gervais-penned series follows his character Tony, a widower who is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his wife Lisa.

Season two sees Tony try and keep going with the support of his friends and newspaper colleagues, and while there are plenty of funny moments, the six episodes are packed with poignant scenes.
Tony struggles the most when he watches old home videos of him and Lisa (Kerry Godliman) in happier times before her cancer diagnosis, and viewers found themselves sobbing alongside him.
Taking to Twitter, one emotional viewer wrote: "Only partway through the opening for After Life (Season 2) and I'm already in tears. You sir, you're just a fantastic storyteller! @rickygervais #AfterLife2 #RickyGervais."
Another added: "#AfterLife #AfterLife2 #afterlife series 2 F***, a minute into the first episode and I'm crying already…"
A third was equally emotional, writing: "5 minutes into After Life season two and I can’t figure out why i’m crying, because of the emotion or with laughter, or a combination of both. Either way..What amazing writing gets you that way. #AfterLife2 @rickygervais."
Meanwhile a fourth tweeted: "#Afterlife series 2, bloody brilliant! @rickygervais has nailed it once again. Only seen Ep1 and already had me in tears."
Some were so invested in the series the binge-watched all six episodes in one go.
One fan wrote: "Just finished watching #AfterLife2 and it was the most incredible thing I have ever watched. I laughed and cried. Thank you @rickygervais."
A fellow binge-watcher added: "Just finished #AfterLife2. Already knew I would love it but it's really brilliant. Everyone out there, enjoy it. Well done @rickygervais."
Viewers weren't the only ones who had no problem crying at Tony's emotional moments, as Ricky revealed to The Sun Online he filmed his sobbing scenes in one take.
He said: "They're not that hard for me, if I feel it, if I mean it, if it feels real I can cry, just once and then you feel better, so they're all one take."
After Life season two is available to stream on Netflix now.
