ED Sheeran is having a big 2021 not only with a musical comeback but also taking a more hands on role with his £26million businesses.

The superstar, who has been on hiatus for 18 months, has signed up to play his new song at TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 Show this month.

Along with his much anticipated comeback, Ed has also stepped up to take more control of some of his side businesses, it can be revealed.

The Shape of You singer has been appointed as a director of his pub and property businesses, newly filed paperwork shows.

Ed, 30, who has not released an album for almost two years, is set for a more hands on role in the businesses Maverick Properties Limited, which manages £26 million of his investments.

He has also been appointed to Fat Punt Limited and That Dive Bar Portobello Limited which run his Bertie Blossoms pub and restaurant in Notting Hill, West London.

Ed, who got married in 2019 and become and father last year, has not previously been on the board of any of the companies leaving sole control to his close adviser and manager Stuart Camp.

He is the main shareholder of all the ventures, but records show that he decided last week to sign up as a director of the three companies.

That Dive Bar Portobello Limited made a loss of £227,000 in 2019, its first year of trading and Fat Punt Limited was £620,000 in the red.

The losses are a small drop in the ocean to Sheeran who has made £250 million from touring alone in the last few years.

The Sun reported last year that Ed owned 27 houses, flats and commercial properties believed to be worth £57 million  – including his huge estate in Suffolk and a mansion in London where he stays in the capital.

He also owns two properties at Covent Garden in central London and a pair of flats next to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The star will be busy preparing for his first gig in almost two years where he will perform at his beloved Ipswich Town football club for TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 Show on June 25.

The TikTok concert comes after The Sun revealed Ed had signed a deal to become the face of the video app.

An insider said: “Ed’s major deal was all linked up to this gig — and its going to be amazing. The venue holds a very special place in Ed’s heart.

“As well as singing some of his classic songs, he will be performing his as-yet-unheard single for the first time ever. Ed has kept details of the track, including the name, under wraps but fans are in for a real treat.”

The show takes place at 9pm on Friday, June 25 — and fans can watch it live for free simply by downloading the TikTok app.

Confirming the TikTok appearance, Ed said: “I can’t wait to perform at TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 Show live from Portman Road. It’s a place I love and I’m looking forward to performing some fan faves as well as my new track for the first time.”
