I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here is set to return this year despite the coronavirus pandemic, it’s been reported.
ITV bosses are hoping it will be all business as usual as the crew have been told they’ll be filming in Australia as scheduled.
It comes after it was reported that producers have been holding Zoom meetings with celebs who could be heading own under this November.
‘ITV is certain lockdown will be well over by the time I’m A Celeb normally starts which is in November,’ a source began.
‘Every year it’s a ratings smash and this year will more than likely be even bigger as the public will be desperate for some fresh and uplifting TV.’
‘ITV have started hiring crew as well as advertising for them Down Under. And bookers are still on the case with celebrities, holding meetings on the likes of Zoom,’ the source continued to The Sun.
Speculation has already begun about which celebs we’ll be seeing head into the jungle this year.
‘Coughing Major’ Charles Ingram is tipped for an appearance after ITV’s drama Quiz had fans obsessed with his historic appearance on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
Other celebs include Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, Eric Cantona and Nigel Farage.
Amanda Holden has also made it clear she’d be up for a stint on the show.
Speaking to The Sun, Amanda said: ‘If Ant and Dec announced it would be their last ever series, then I think they’d get to choose who is in it, and we’d all have to do it.’
When asked how she would fare with the show’s many challenges, which involve eating creepy crawlies and animal’s private parts, she said: ‘I’d be a screamer – but there’s nothing I wouldn’t put it in mouth, babe.’
