THE Great Christmas Bake Off 2021 is returning to Channel 4 with the It’s A Sin cast to take part in the festive themed challenges.

Judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood are returning with Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding. 

Who are the celebrities for The Great Christmas Bake Off 2021?

Olly Alexander

Oliver Alexander Thornton is a 31-year-old British musician, songwriter, actor and screenwriter. 

Channel 4 It’s a Sin fans will recognise Alexander as lead role character Ritchie Tozer.

The drama depicts gay life in the 1980s and early 1990s, and Alexander has earned critical acclaim for his performance, with some critics saying that he should win a BAFTA.

Prior to appearing in It’s a Sin, Olly starred in films such as Summerhill and The Riot Club.

Lydia West

Lydia Dorothy West is a 28-year-old British actress. 

She plays the role of Jill Baxter in It’s a Sin, a friend of Richie and the gang amid the AIDS crisis.

Her character was based on a real life person, who was a friend of Russell T. Davies. 

Lydia is also known for her appearances in Years and Years (2019) and Dracula (2020).

Lydia has an upcoming film role in Text for You and TV role in the Apple TV+ series Suspicion.

Shaun Dooley

Shaun Dooley is a 47-year-old English actor, narrator and voice-over artist. 

He played Ritchie Fitzgerald in Coronation Street from 1997 until 1998 and then  appeared occasionally in EastEnders as Tom Stuart between 2001 and 2004 until he was replaced during his filming of The Street. 

Dooley married his wife Polly in 1998 and the couple have four children together.

Shaun plays Ritchie's father Clive, in It’s a Sin, and the Tozers have serious family complications.  

Ritchie is scared to be honest about his sexuality with his parents and this will lead to further complications down the line. 

Nathaniel Curtis

Nathaniel Curtis was born on December 29, 1990.

He is best known for The Witcher: Blood Origin (2022), It's a Sin (2021) and The National Television Awards 2021 (2021).

Nathaniel plays Ash Mukherjee in It's A Sin, who has a relationship with Ritchie in the series. 

His character has a prominent role in the series.

Nathaniel described the role to The Queer Review by saying: "Ash is very interesting to play because he doesn’t say an awful lot, but he’s always there. What’s really lovely about him is that he’s always strong, steady, and reliable".

When is The Great Christmas Bake Off 2021 on TV?

The Great British Christmas Bake Off will air on Christmas day at 8pm on Channel 4.

The second special of Christmas Bake Off, which will see past bakers, is called The Great Festive Bake Off and it will air over the New Year with a date to be confirmed.
