The family of the slain NYPD Officer Anastasios Tsakos has set up an online fundraiser to support his wife and two kids — and it’s already raised $50,000 by Wednesday morning.
“Tasso has left behind two beautiful children and a wonderful wife,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Words cannot describe the emptiness his family and dearest friends feel. He was the light in many lives.”
The cop’s brother, Teddy Tsakos, confirmed to The Post the family launched the effort. It was created “solely for the purpose to help support his two beautiful children and wife,” the page reads.
Tsakos, a 14-year veteran of the NYPD who was assigned to Highway 3, died early Tuesday after being hit by an alleged drunk driver.
NYPD Officer John Mantas created another online fundraiser, with Anastasios Tsakos’ wife, Irene, listed as the beneficiary. That campaign has raised over $26,000.
